OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY
1. The pre-registration deadline is July 23rd, 2021.

2. After July 23rd, please call contact listed on page.
3. $125 entry fee per boat, 4 adult maximum.
4. Entry fee includes up to 4 event tickets. (additional tickets are available for purchase)
5. Late entry fee $25 per boat
6. Entry fee refunds will not be permitted.
7. Licensed charter captains cannot be ‘for hire’ to participate in this event.

 

ORIENTATION
1. There will be a mandatory Captains’ Meeting at 7:30 p.m. sharp, the evening before the tournament; Friday, August 6th, at the Infinity Event Center located at 7521 Port Austin Rd., Caseville, MI. Rules and boundaries will be discussed further. AT LEAST 1 TEAM MEMBER MUST ATTEND!

 

SAFETY
1. ABSOLUTELY NO alcoholic beverages or illegal substances may be consumed by or in possession of the contestants during fishing hours of the tournament.

 

TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT
1. Michigan regulations will apply to all methods & equipment.

 

PERMITTED FISHING WATERS
1. North boundary is a line connecting Au Sable Point to Pointe Aux Barques.
2. All teams can launch at the site of their choice, within the boundaries, no earlier than 6 a.m.

 

FISHING HOURS AND START TIMES
1. The tournament fishing hours will be 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

FISH SIZE AND LIMIT
1. The minimum length of any eligible fish is 15 inches.
2. The tournament limit to weigh-in is 5 fish per boat.
3. Dead fish CANNOT be returned to the water.

WEIGH-IN
1. Weigh-in begins at 2 p.m. at the Infinity Event Center.
You MUST be in line no later than 4 p.m. sharp!!!
2. Each team is responsible for their own catch. Under no circumstances may anyone other than the contestants handle or touch the catch until it has been presented to the weighing officials.
3. An unloading area will be designated in front of the weigh-in area.
4. Each team will be allowed to weigh in a maximum of 5 fish.
5. At the discretion of the weighing official, a gill may be cut to establish a live or dead fish.

 

BOAT IDENTIFICATION & PATROLLING
1. All boats must be identified as contestant boats and permit boarding by the patrolling boats.
2. Boats will be given colored ribbons that must be displayed in a visible manner for other boats to see.

 

In Jeffery’s Spirit
1. The Jeffery Powell Memorial Scholarship Walleye Tournament Board has the right to refuse any application that does not exemplify Jeffery’s integrity towards a sporting event.
2. While it is understood that all rules have “loopholes”, to honor Jeffery’s spirit all contestants will conduct themselves in an honest, sportsman-like manner before, during, and after the tournament while on the water and at the Infinity Event Center.
3. All questions or problems will be referred to an independent arbitrator who will have sole jurisdiction in determining the application of the rule.
4. Any disqualifications will result in forfeiture of entry fee.

 

PAYOUT
1. $25 of the entry fee will go directly to the Jeffery Powell Memorial Scholarship Fund. Payout is 50% of the remaining entry fees based on 50 boat Field.
2. Payout for Walleye is listed 1st – 4th Place.
3. A $500 payout will be awarded to the largest Catfish, only 1 Catfish allowed per boat at weigh-in.
